Power VS. Force

Power VS. Force

By: Dr. David R. Hawkins

I have never read anything quite like this before. Dr. Hawkins is spiritual philosopher and researcher. The conclusions this book presents came from decades of research. Methods used by Dr. Hawkins were “soft science” at best in my opinion, but none the less I think they are worthy of recognition and should be thought about carefully. The basic argument is this, true power is greater than force. True power comes from positive thoughts and emotions; peace, joy, love, reason, ect. Force generally extends from negative thoughts and emotions; fear, anger, shame, apathy, ect. An example of power overcoming force would be Gandhi. Gandhi led India to independence and overcame the force of the British Empire without any weapons.

Favorite Quote: The only way to enhance one’s power in the world is by increasing one’s integrity, understanding, and capacity for compassion.
